12 Guests of Christmas – Born and Bread
Nikki is another one of my favorite Twitter success “stories”. She and I share a love of tech, social and food! We seem to run into each other at functions that involve food more than anywhere else and I think that’s a whole lotta awesome. She always has an awesome story and has been known to keep a scandalous secret or two about people in our town.. but she won’t tell. Ever. She just sent her audition tape off to the Food Network to be a contestant on The Next Food Network Star and when she makes it, the Rooster and I will be right there cheering her on. The past seven years my life has revolved around food. Morning, noon and night, my thoughts and feelings all surround food. And nothing else. I can’t think about anything else. I don’t have any children, but I can only imagine this … read more

Menus for an Easy and Great Dinner
It’s hard when you’re a family with two working spouses to not just put dinner on the table before the stroke of midnight, but also a dinner that isn’t created by punching buttons on a microwave or hearing the words “pull up to the 2nd window”. I’ve mentioned before that I try to plan out our dinners 2 weeks in advance. I find that by doing this, it saves us a ton of money at the Teeter. What happens when I don’t plan, is that the Rooster looks up from his work at 4pm and says “hhhmmm.. what should I make for dinner?”. This question is almost followed by him going to the kitchen, realizing he hadn’t pulled anything from the freezer and then heading to the store to buy what he needs to make dinner. No kidding – by planning our menus out, it cuts our grocery bill in … read more

Sunday Soup – October 7th
When the Rooster and I swapped offices last year, he became the primary dinner maker which is great since he’s a good cook. But he was killing our finances with one simple fact – he couldn’t plan. 4:00 would roll around and he would realize that he didn’t have plans for dinner, run to the grocery store down the road and another $40 would be gone. I’ve played around with planning out dinner menus in the past but the past few months, I have been very diligent with making sure they’re done. I’ll plan out 2 weeks worth of dinners which solves 2 problems.. saves a boatload of money on groceries (since we have everything we need to make the recipe in the house) and Steve doesn’t have to think too hard about what to make for dinner. Added bonus – we always have dinner. During the fall, Sunday seems … read more

Are You Ready for Some Football and Tailgating?
If you tuned in to Fox 8 this morning, you saw me showing off some great new products that are essential to any tailgate party. If you missed the clip, you can watch it here! Labor Day is right around the corner and that means that football season is getting ready to be in full swing! Whether you gather with your friends to watch college or NFL teams, chances are you’ve been to a few tailgates. Tailgates are such a great way to spend time with friends and family, eating great food and cheering on your favorite team – or egging on a rivalry! Here are the items that I showcased with a little bit more information on them: The Sizzle-Q all stainless steel barbecue griddle allows the avid tailgate chef the opportunity to expand their grilling options and be the hit at the next tailgate party. Easily portable, just … read more

Auntie Anne’s Make at Home Pretzel Kits
Have you had the good fortune to try Auntie Anne’s Pretzels? If you’re lucky enough to have one in your town (they’re popular in malls), you know that once you have one – you’re hooked. They’re a twisted up version of heaven.. whether you get the traditional salty kind or the amazingly decadent brown sugar and cinnamon variety, Auntie Anne’s has clearly made their mark in our hearts and stomachs. I had the good fortune to meet Auntie Anne’s Pretzels social media director while I was at Social Slam in April. Actually – we never got to meet face to face even though we were in the same room but rather tweeted a lot back and forth. Once we both got settled back into our respective lives and offices, we had some face time thanks to Skype. Shannon single handily runs the social media voice for Auntie Anne’s and has done … read more
