Congratulations to me. This is my 400th post on this site. It all started on January 22, 2004 with this post when Mackenzie was 5, Sydney was 2 and Cassie was 5 months old. I started the blog at the encouragement of Jen who also had started one for Sadie (Sexy Baby Sadie) and we actually started one together called Baby Sanity Tips. I’ve often told her that I wish we had kept that blog going because we were WAY ahead of the “mommy blog” trend and would probably be gazillionaires now. I didn’t start this site for any other reason than to keep our families up to date on what was going on in our every day lives. We were in Pennsylvania at the time with no family around.

Image from Wikipediawith our family. This is before Facebook and even MySpace and quite honestly, I just didn't have time to run to CVS to print off pictures to mail them out. If you want to stay up to date, visit the site I told them.

Since that beginning, we’ve watched them grow up, games were won, recitals were danced, all three started Kindergarten, two have graduated from elementary school, vacations have been taken, friends have gotten married and family members have passed on.

And every single one of those moments is chronicled here – a true-to-life journal.

I’ve switched platforms a few times and some of the photos that went with the posts are no longer here. Maybe one day, I’ll comb thru the digital archives and reattach them where they belong. I’ve taken breaks from it, but always came back. Once I started on Facebook 5 years ago, I wrote less often because that seemed to fill the bill at least on a short term basis. But this past December, I spent a lot of time redesigning it and committed to keeping it very up to date because there is no way that a Facebook timeline can adequately capture and keep all of our memories.

There was a time when people were very diligent with keeping handwritten journals. Many still do. I have started and stopped more of those than even this site. This medium just suits my life better. I hope that one day, the girls will look back on it and remember the fun times we had – even when we may be in the “I hate you” moments :)

Thank you for reading my words and sharing my moments. For those that live within these blog walls – thank you for being a part of my life and helping me create these memories. Thank you to my husband and children for giving me the words to write. I hope that I make you proud with the stories I tell the world.

Now off I go for the next 99 posts to make it to #500!
