Remember When…

piedmont airlines

If you know me, you know I can’t participate in Wordless Wednesday 100% effectively. I always have to add words.

I found this at my mom’s house last week:

piedmont airlines

It’s a compact mirror from the Up-and-Coming Airline – Piedmont Airlines which as most of us know is long-gone. Remember when airlines actually went the extra mile and gave things like this out?

About Kristen Daukas

Kristen Daukas and her husband are the parents of three teen and tween daughters. She faces the same challenges as every parent - how to stay sane while raising teens in an era of technology, mean girls, college prep and PMS. Her main goal is to get them out the door as functioning adults who remember their childhood as a happy if not crazy time. During the day, she is a partner at Atlantic Social Media Group - a Social Media Marketing Agency and is always looking for the next fun, tech toy to play with.

  1. Wow, yes one of my fondest memories was flying Hawaiian airlines as a kid and getting the little coloring book about Menehunes and wings from the captain (by the way, if you catch them in the right mood you can still get the wings sometimes). Ah, for the fun days of flying…sigh…

    • When my parents divorced and my dad moved to Texas, I remember being the 7 year old on the plane.. I used to score with the goodies… wings, cards, visits to the cockpit. Never again on that one!

Remember when flying was fun and not a chore? Why yes I do. Damn airlines kill me now. The good news is that I am guaranteed a little action before each flight. The bad news is that it is TSA feeling me up and down.
