Best Friends, Jamaica and the Royal Family

I can’t believe that I am just now getting to talking about my amazing weekend getaway with the bestie to Jamaica. Last week was non-stop from the moment we landed until.. well.. it hasn’t stopped. But that’s the reason we take getaways, isn’t it?  It forces us to make the world stop even if it’s just for a moment or a day or a weekend. If you’re really lucky, you can make it stop for a week or so. “God made us best friends because he knew that our moms couldn’t handle us as sisters.” I have been blessed to know lot of amazing people in my life but the “sisters” that I have, make my life whole. I’m Off Getting My Groove Back

Not the kind of groove that Stella got back.. just my normal “hey I’m a groovy chick who has a name OTHER than Mom” kind of groove.. I’m out of here for a few days, friends. I need it.. I don’t think I realized how badly I needed it until it a couple of days ago.You now how that goes.. if there’s no end in site, you just keep plugging along like everything is normal. Well.. everything IS normal… it just becomes irritatingly normal when there’s a trip in your near future. Wordless Wednesday: Weddings

This is the week leading up to mine and the Rooster’s anniversary. We had a non-traditional wedding which basically means he and I quickly grew tired of the BS (and expense) that came along with the traditional wedding and said “screw it – let’s go to Vegas”. It was the best decision ever and instead of a one day affair, we had a four day celebration with our closest friends and family. While we opted for a “traditional” service in the chapel at the MGM (complete with a Pastor), what Vegas wedding would be complete without Elvis? This photo is one of my all time favorite pictures and includes four of my closest friends.
