A is Not for Apple: Old School Blogging
I don’t know if it’s because school is (kind of) out, but all of a sudden, there’s a flurry of people reciting their ABCs. It’s been a while since I’ve done a “getting to know you” activity and since I’ve met so many new people who may not know all the craziness that makes up me, figured what they hay when Michelle tagged me to participate. So, without further ado, I give you… The ABCs of Me…. A. Attached or Single? Attached. Very. The Rooster is the one person who equally keeps me sane and drives me insane, but I couldn’t do it without him. Well, I could but I wouldn’t want to. B. Best Friend? The Rooster and Jenfa C. Cake or pie? Cake. I like a good pie, but I’ve turned down more pies in my time then cake. D. Day of choice? Sunday if it’s done … read more
My Kind of Boot Camp – Bloggy Boot Camp Recap and Link-Up!
I hear all you girls talking about getting up at 5am to go to Boot Camp and every now and then I think to myself “Kristen – you should get yourself to Boot Camp”. So I finally did it! Except it was MY kind of boot camp. The kind where I sat in a room full of like minded people (women) working out our blog concepts instead of our biceps and the only curls going on were the ones on my head and the ones on our faces from smiling so much. THIS is Bloggy Boot Camp, y’all! Remember back at the beginning of the year when I set my goals for this year? One of them was to go to a couple of conferences so when I saw that the SITS Girls were bringing their traveling roadshow to Charlotte, I was like HELL YEAH!*, I’m going! So I bought … read more

It’s Not What You Say, It’s How You Say It – (Almost) Wordless Wednesday
I had the great pleasure of hearing Dena Harris speak yesterday. Dena is a professional writer and writing coach here in our area. She’s funny and I think if she got to know me, we’d be fast friends. I mean cripes.. she has no kids – so her house is clean and could be my dream escape house and her CAT is on Twitter! Oh sorry.. that was a squirrel moment and I’m suddenly getting VERY far away from “wordless”. Dena had many great tips to offer our group but what she started off with was telling us about this video on changing how you say something can make a big impact. Watch it and then tell me how you can change your words to make an impact. Kristen

Congratulations to me. This is my 400th post on this site. It all started on January 22, 2004 with this post when Mackenzie was 5, Sydney was 2 and Cassie was 5 months old. I started the blog at the encouragement of Jen who also had started one for Sadie (Sexy Baby Sadie) and we actually started one together called Baby Sanity Tips. I’ve often told her that I wish we had kept that blog going because we were WAY ahead of the “mommy blog” trend and would probably be gazillionaires now. I didn’t start this site for any other reason than to keep our families up to date on what was going on in our every day lives. We were in Pennsylvania at the time with no family around. Since that beginning, we’ve watched them grow up, games were won, recitals were danced, all three started Kindergarten, two have graduated from … read more
