I was introduced to Mary GingerDoodles after she read one of my posts about being a Ginger (for those of you who don’t know, a Ginger is a redhead.. and only Gingers can use the term.. ) and we’ve bonded in red-headed sisterhood since. Why Gingers Love Fall

Because it’s our season! Blondes have summer and brunettes are to die for in the winter. But no other season suits a redhead better than the fall. The colors match us.. browns, reds, oranges, golds. The air is crisp like our tongues and cool like our demeanor. I love when the weather finally gives me the chance to put on jeans, boots and a sweater. I know that it’s not quite cold enough to do it, but who cares? I have sassier and spunkier cool weather clothes than I do warm weather. No one sees my paler than pale skin that is characteristic of all gingers. We went from windows open to windows closed and the upstairs heat kicked on to take the chill off the air. On Being a Ginger

Thanks to Gilligan’s Island, women have been classified as being either a “Ginger” or a “MaryAnn” for years. Neither one is bad… they’re just different. M came home a couple of months ago and I could tell something was bothering her. In case you aren’t there already, it takes a lot longer to pry the answer to “what’s wrong” out of a teenager than it does to get it out of a 6 year old. So after asking and asking, she finally caved and told me what was eating away at her. She’d apparently been dubbed a Ginger at school. Being the redhead that I am, I swelled with pride.
