Summer Creativity

Mackenzie has become a Pinterest convert like the rest of the world but she has made more of her “pins” in the 3 months she’s been on than I have in a year and a half of pinning. Yesterday she made this crazy sweet (but yummy!) Dunkaroo Dip from funfetti cake mix.. Instant hit with everyone but especially the kids. If you haven’t jumped into Pinterest, go ahead and do it. You can find a lot of really fun things to do with kids when they need a little boost of creativity. Today’s project is personalized coffee mugs. Quick trip to the dollar store to get plain, white mugs and she was in business! Summer Camps in Winston-Salem

Only a working mom would sit in the middle of March and wonder what she was going to do with her brood in 3 months. But, you have to plan!! There are so many camps to choose from and some of them are half-day, some are full-day.. some are overnight camps, others are day camps. There are sports camps, drama camps, art camps…. BWAH!!!! Where does it stop?? At some point, you just say “forget it, you’re all just staying home and entertaining yourselves”. Sadly, that’s not logical. They’ll get bored. Then they’ll start to bother you. Then they’ll start whining that they have nothing to do. Then they’ll want to go back to school. And it’s only June 30th at this point. So, where do you go for local information on camps? Looking For a Great Day Camp in Winston?

Just dropped 2/3 of my crew off to their first day of camp. If you're still looking for a place for your kids whether it's the entire summer or just as a filler for a week here and there, you MUST check out Kids Rule Camp.  It's a new camp, so you may not have heard of it but let me tell you.. you're not going to find a better deal out there. Camp runs Monday – Friday 7am – 6pm, the day is full of activities such as arts and crafts, positive affirmation, sports (lacrosse, basketball,cheerleading, kickboxing), movie days, museum days, etiquette classes, ice cream socials, acting and so on.
