Things I Love – Day 3: St. Maarten

In honor of Valentine’s Day being this week, I thought I’d spend some time talking about things I love. It might be a person one day, a thing the next, a place another day. I hope you spend some time this week thinking about the ones that mean the most to you. It doesn’t have to be your partner – it can be the BFFs you’ve had forever.

Thought this would be a good one to do for (almost) Wordless Wednesday.

This is a photo the Rooster took our first trip to St. Maarten. We’ve joked that he should sell it to Presidente Beer so they can use it in their ads it’s almost that perfect.

We’ve been to St. Maarten twice now – each time on a cruise and it is the one place we’ve put on our bucket list to go back to and spend an entire week.  The locals are as warm and welcoming as the sands of the beach. The shopping is amazing and the water so many beautiful colors of blue and green. I often daydream of selling everything we own and moving there. I mean.. if they have Wi-Fi, the Rooster and I can both still work, right??

Where would you move to if money were no object?

Kristen Daukas and her husband are the parents of three teen and tween daughters. She faces the same challenges as every parent - how to stay sane while raising teens in an era of technology, mean girls, college prep and PMS. Her main goal is to get them out the door as functioning adults who remember their childhood as a happy if not crazy time. During the day, she is a partner at Atlantic Social Media Group - a Social Media Marketing Agency and is always looking for the next fun, tech toy to play with.

As sad as it to say, I haven’t been out of the good ol’ US of A. So on that note, of the states I have been to, I think where I live now would be just fine, if we could just be out in the country with about 15 acres with some woods. How boring that sounds, I know. But I like where I live, just want to be in the country. I do have plans on going to Europe (that bucket list thing). :D

Before our 1st cruise, I hadn’t either. And while the caribbean is considered outside the US, I still don’t consider that I’ve left the country until I fly East to Europe, etc. So, I’m in your boat ;)

    • @TerriTaylor Before our cruise, I had never been outside the US either. However, until I fly East, I’m still not counting it ;)

Honestly, I would move back to Florida. I know it’s not far, but that is our home. We love it there. More specifically St. Petersburg, FL. I love Florida, but Saint Pete is our home. Our friends are there, people are great and it’s just… familiar. We’ve been away sing April, 2009 and so if money were no issue, if we didn’t need jobs, I’d go there.
